This book is the marathi translated version of the book Poona in bygone days written by D.B.Parasnis and translated by Suresh Deshpande. The book was written before 36 years and just with an aim to introduce the royal and dignity of Pune city, and architecture during the Peshwa era to the help class British people. Hence with the help of historic evidence the details like incidents happened in Pune in Peshwa era, details about the city, happenings and the places and architecture in the city.
Decorative, but easy language, simple formation , historical supportive documents make it a base of historical novel base. While translating from English version, author has done minor linguistic changes keeping the format of original book as same.
