The biography of Madam Bhikaji Cama is narrated by author Dr. Jagdish Lanjekar in this Dhwajankita Madam Kama book. She hoisted the tricolor flag, the first version of the national flag of India, at the Second International Socialist Conference held in Stuttgart, Germany in 1907. This flag had three colored stripes of green, saffron and red. Madam Cama has been known in history as the first woman to hoist the Indian flag abroad.

मादाम भिकाजी कामा यांचे चरित्र लेखक डॉ. जगदीश लांजेकर यांनी ध्वजांकिता मादाम कामा या पुस्तकात सांगितलेले आहे. मादाम कामा यांच्या हातून पार पडलेली सर्वांत विलक्षण गोष्ट म्हणजे १९०७ मध्ये जर्मनीतील स्ट्युटगार्ट येथे संपत्र झालेल्या दुसऱ्या आंतरराष्ट्रीय समाजवादी परिषदेत त्यांनी भारताच्या राष्ट्रीय ध्वजाची पहिली आवृत्ती असलेला तिरंगा ध्वज फडकवला. या ध्वजात हिरवा, भगवा आणि लाल या तीन रंगांचे पट्टे होते. परदेशात भारताचा ध्वज फडकवणारी पहिली महिला म्हणून मादाम कामा यांची इतिहासात नोंद झाली आहे.
