Maharashtra has a 720 kms. diversified coastline with varied sea-forts revealing the history for centuries back. These sea forts have individual features different from each other where few are on island in the middle of the sea, some stand on the coastline while others are on a hill a top adjacent to the seashore.
These sea forts have witnessed the interesting history of Shivaji Maharaj who developed the naval forces of the Swarajya against the Portugese, Siddhis, Dutch and British.
