Various sources form a part of irrigation department contributing to construction of dams, drip irrigation, plantation of trees, computerized water management well system. These play a vital role and the process and functioning done by the people responsible in this process and the efforts taken by them in Maharashtra has been described by author Surekha Shah in this Maharashtrache Jalnayak book, where she terms them as Jalnayak. Moreover the book consists of nearly 25 people (Jalnayak) from nine divisions in detail about the work contributed by them in this regard. In addition to these, seven different organizations working on water management in Maharashtra have been introduced done in this book.
