The book is a biography of Maharani Yesubai. She was the Maratha queen who spent 30 years of imprisonment given by Aurangzeb with patience. With utmost diplomacy, she protected Shahu despite of being in the prison. With her witty tacts, she saved Rajaram Maharaj due to which the Maratha army fought against Aurangzeb. Her contribution in the royal administration and her work in keeping the Maratha army upright and fighting in difficult situation also is taken into account by the author Dr. Sadashiv Shivade.
