Kasabe Wai – कसबे वाई

‘Wai’ is a village that has come into the limelight since around the seventeenth century. The history of this town is very old. Even if we talk about known history, references to the town can be found as far back as the first century AD. Over the past years, many different dynasties have added to the historical journey of Wai. From around the 17th/18th century, Wai’s cultural splendor was beautifully celebrated. It was during this period that Wai emerged as a major cultural center in Maharashtra. The strengths of the city of Wai are highlighted in the history of various periods. Author Aditya Chaunde has attempted to trace the changing culture, art, urban planning, and business ventures of Wai in his book Kasabe Wai.
