RushiTarpan – ऋषितर्पण

The title RushiTarpan means worship of sages – this book has created a personal vision of the scholars of Marathi history who have seen the soul of history through the penance of their research. This includes eleven historical sages like Vasudevshastri Khare, G. H. Khare, Dr. Pandurang Pisurlekar, D.V. Apte, Setumadhavrao Pagdi, D. V. Potdar, Sir Jadunath Sarkar, Riyasatkar Govind S. Sardesai, Trimbak S. Shejwalkar, Y.N. Kelkar. Along with their work, their personal joys and sorrows, their courage, their sacrifice, are discussed. The book RushiTarpan is a tribute by the author Prof. S.S. Puranik to the historical researchers who have become like sages themselves through the intense penance of our history.
